1. Judging will be based on flavor, texture and appearance.
2. No cake mixes or other mixes or bread making machines are to be used.
3. Items to be placed on sturdy paper plates.
4. All frostings must be made from scatch.
5. No Meringue Pies.
6. Only enter half a cake or loaf of bread.
7. Fancy cakes and novelty cakes can be styrofaom.

OPEN TO FREDERICK COUNTY RESIDENTS ONLY
1. Jars must be clean -- no rusty rings.
2. Canned fruits, vegetables, and meats must be exhibited in clear (untinted) standard
canning quart or pint jars vacuumed packed with screw tops; preserves*, jams*,
marmalades*, butters*, and pickles in clear (untinted) standard half-pint jars vacuumed
packed with screw tops; jelly in standard jelly glasses (8 ounce) sealed with paraffin or
in standard one-half pint vacuumed packed jars with screw tops (* may be sealed with
paraffin)
3. No 12 ounce canning jars. No artificial coloring permitted, except jellies.
4. Canned goods must have been canned since last fair, except dill pickles which may be a
year old.
5. Any canned goods may be opened during judging.
6. No mayonnaise jars will be accepted.

OPEN TO FREDERICK COUNTY RESIDENTS ONLY
1. All entries must be mounted on 11x14 inch mat board with no
photograph smaller than 5x7 inches.
2. The mat board must be white, black, or gray.
3. Photographs in frames will not be accepted for exhibition.
4. The photographer’s name, address, telephone number and category should be on the
back of the entry.
5. Photographs previously exhibited at The Great Frederick Fair will not be accepted in
competition.
6. Photographs must be the work of the exhibitor.
7. Exhibitors may enter only one photograph in each class.
8. Nude, obscene or distasteful photographs will not be accepted for competition.
9. Laser and copies from copy machines will not be accepted for competition.
10. Middle and high school student produced photography will be judged separate, indicate
on the entry if student produced.
11. The same rules apply to both color and black and white photography.
12. Photographs not conforming with all rules will not be judged.
13. Must be photographed within the past year.
