Rules and Regulations:
 
  1. The entries in this department are limited, and open to the competition of Frederick County exhibitors unless otherwise invited.
    2. An entry fee of $1 per bird is required, payable when entry is made.
    3. All exhibitors whose total entry fee is $10 or more will be given one vehicle pass.
    4. There will be no farm flocks, and no classes for trios.
    5. Premiums will be awarded to all variety of poultry recognized in the Standard of Perfection; also in game birds and ornamental varieties as well as non-standard breeds and varieties recognized distinctly as such by the superintendent.
    6. All birds must be pullorum tested. Send certificates with entry.
    7. During the exhibition, all specimens will be under the control of the superintendent and cannot be removed without his consent. A poultry technician will be on hand to make a daily inspection of all birds on exhibition; any bird showing signs of sickness or disease will be removed from the poultry building.
    8. Protests against awards must be made in writing, accompanied by a deposit of $25.00 and presented to the fair's administration office after awards are marked on award cards. If upon a thorough investigation the protest is not sustained, the deposit will be forfeited to the fair.
    9. The term specimen implies anything for which a premium is offered. The cock and hen are specimens hatched prior to 1999, Cockerel and Pullet are specimens hatched during 1999.
    10.Any exhibitor interfering with a judge while discharging his duties, or interfering with or handling any specimen or exhibition other than his own shall forfeit all premiums that may have been awarded.
    11.Any exhibits left in the building after 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, will be done so at the owner's risk.
    12.Specimens will be fed and cared for at the expense of the fair.
    13.Any class with only one entry will receive $1 in premium money.
    14.All premium checks will be mailed to exhibitors.
