Becky Brashear, CFE
Is Executive Assistant at The Great Frederick Fair, a position she has held since September 1995. She oversees the facility's day to day operations including fair management and offseason rental schedule. She earned her CFE certification from the International Association of Fairs and Expos (IAFE) in 1998.
Becky also served as Executive Director at the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair, working there from 1990-95. Before joining the fair industry, she was editor of the Agriculture and Green-house sections at the Frederick News-Post, a twice daily published newspaper.
She has given numerous oral presentations and workshops on the local, state, regional and national levels, and she has and written articles for numerous publications including the IAFE's monthly magazine. Becky has also judged numerous contests at the state and National FFA Conventions as well as fair and 4-H events.
As a youngster, Becky showed beef cattle and sheep at local, county, state, regional and national shows, and was a member of the 4-H livestock judging team. She was also a 4-H and FFA member, winning numerous state and national awards in both organizations. Through the years she served as a 4-H club leader, and has served on various boards and committees.
She recently was appointed to serve a three year term on the Frederick County Agri-Business Council, and she serves on the YMCA’s Character Counts Board, the Maryland Association of Agricultural Fairs and Shows Board, and the Frederick County Farm Bureau Board, and is past president of the Maryland Agriculture Council Inc.
