2004 Great Frederick Fair's Entertainment Lineup Released

FREDERICK, Md. - All nine nights of the 142nd Great Frederick Fair, will "Ag-Sensuate Your Senses," with one of the best grandstand entertainment lineups that has been offered in recent years! The 2004 fair will be held September 17-25.

The fair kicks off on the first night, Friday, Sept. 17, with the crowning of the 2004-05 4-H Royalty, the announcement of the county's new Farm Family of the Year, and the recognition of some of the county's top students in the Character Counts Program. It all begins at 7 p.m. in front of the grandstand. The evening's program is free.

Musical entertainment starts in front of the grandstand at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, with Jo Dee Messina. Tickets are $25 for reserved track seats, $23 for reserved grandstand, and $18 for reserved general admission.

"The whole week from beginning to end is filled with great entertainment," said Dr. James McClellan, chairman of the fair's Entertainment Committee. "We are very fortunate to still be able to attract some of the biggest and best names in country music."

On Sunday, Sept. 19, Trick Pony will make their returning appearance at The Great Frederick Fair. With the popularity of the group performing at the fair in 2003, fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets early, as this show is expected to be a sellout! Tickets for the 7 p.m. show are $25 for reserved track seats, $23 for reserved grandstand, and $18 for reserved general admission.

The popular Tractor and Truck Pull returns to the fair on Monday, Sept. 20, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 each for all seats. New to the fair this year is two nights of Demolition Derby, instead of one night. The derbies will get started at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21 and Wednesday, Sept. 22. Tickets for all seats are $15 each.

Neal McCoy makes a return appearance at the fair on Thursday, Sept. 23. Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. performance are $22 for reserved track seats, $20 for reserved grandstand, and $16 for reserved general admission.

Popular country entertainer Brad Paisley performs Friday, Sept. 24, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 for reserved track seats, $23 for reserved grandstand, and $18 for reserved general admission.

The week ends Saturday, Sept. 25, with Sawyer Brown taking center stage at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 for reserved track seats, $23 for reserved grandstand, and $18 for reserved general admission.

Ticket forms will be mailed to the fair's mailing list on April 27; to be added to the mailing list, send a postcard with name and address information to The Great Frederick Fair, PO Box 604, Frederick, MD 21705. All ticket orders will be filled by mail order only; ticket orders can not be postmarked prior to May 7, and no orders can be hand delivered. Ticket prices do not include admission to the fairgrounds and there is a $1 per ticket handling fee for all mail orders.
