Nancy N. Hendricks

Board of Managers

Nancy Hendricks cannot recall ever missing a fair. Even while in college, she always came home to attend the fair. She was very proud to inherit her grandfather’s membership in the Frederick County Agricultural Society in 1963.  In 1989, Ms. Hendricks joined the Board of Managers and became the first female board member in the history of the fair and the agricultural society.

Ms. Hendricks served as president of the Frederick County Agricultural Society in 2000 and 2001. She is currently chairman of the Harness Racing/ Equine Events/ and Motorsports committee.

Ms. Hendricks’ earliest memory of the fair is as an eight year old watching Ferdinand the Bull. During the show, volunteers were asked to come on stage. According to Ms. Hendricks, she was up on the stage before her mother realized she had left her seat!

Ms. Hendricks is retired from her job as an elementary school principal. She now spends her time raising and exhibiting Morgan horses. She is also president the Maryland Association of Agricultural Fairs and Shows.
