Ag Careers Fair broadens agriculture awareness
FREDERICK, MD–-Looking for a career in agriculture? Then come to The Great Frederick Fair on Friday, Sept. 24, and see for yourself the many career paths that link to the ag industry. The Frederick County Agri Business Council in conjunction with the fair will host the fifth annual Ag Careers Fair on Friday from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. in Building 44, in the fair’s "City Streets, Country Roads" exhibit. The 142nd fair, "Ag-Sensuate Your Senses...Touch IT! Hear IT! See IT! Taste IT! Smell IT!" runs from September 17-25.
The Ag Careers Fair is especially a "must see" event at the fair for anyone interested in discovering the many facets of the agriculture industry. This one-day event will feature many educational and career resources.
"We want the students as well as the public to benefit from the Ag Careers Fair," said David Miller, co-chairman of the Frederick County Agri Business Council. Numerous exhibits will again depict the ag career paths students may consider for their future. "People just don’t realize the wide range of careers that are connected to agriculture and natural resources. We hope we can continue to make the careers fair an annual part of the county fair."
Students as well as the fairgoing public are invited and encouraged to visit the careers fair and talk one on one with exhibitors. The Ag Careers Fair will be a great educational event for students to visit while at the fair during their day off from school on Friday. Represented careers range from wildlife management and landscape design to zookeepers and agribusiness educational institutions and agencies.
"This is a great concept to have all of these resources available in one location, all at the same time," Mr. Miller added.
