DEMOLITION DERBY IS TWO NIGHTS AT 2004 GREAT FREDERICK FAIR

FREDERICK, MD–Tires screeching and metal crashing will once again be heard at this year’s 142nd Great Frederick Fair during the demolition derby. As always, this unique event promises to be exciting for participants and spectators alike, not on just one night, but two. The derbies, set for Tuesday, Sept. 21 and Wednesday, Sept. 22, begin at 7 p.m.

Promoted by R&R Productions, the demolition derbies are open to the public. Tickets to each show are are $15 for all seats. The ticket price does not include the fair's admission or parking. Applications for participants are being accepted at the fair's Administration Office (in Building 3) from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The entry fee is $25. A valid driver’s license must be presented with each application.

In the demolition derby, only American-made cars can be used and they must have hard tops. Sixty cars will be featured in each night’s derby. Each car must have its glass removed and have doors securely closed. Other derby rules are listed on the entry form.
