At 2004 Great Frederick Fair
Farm and Garden Building Schedule Announced
FREDERICK, Md. — From wreaths and flower arrangements to container gardening, The Great Frederick Fair Farm and Garden Department has something to interest every fair visitor to the 142nd fair, "Ag-sensuate Your Senses," Sept. 17-25.
The Farm and Garden demonstrations kick off in Building 14A on Sunday, Sept. 19, from 10 a.m. until with a presentation on "Bees Wax and Rolled Candles."
Monday, Sept. 20 features "Silk Fall Arrangements," throughout the day; from 10 a.m.-noon is "Growing Herbs." FFA will present demonstrations Monday through Friday from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Tuesday’s demonstrations continue with "Fresh Fall Arrangements" throughout the day, followed at 1-4 p.m. with "Growing Bonsai."
Wednesday gets started at 10-11 a.m. with "Herb Garden to Kitchen Gourmet," followed at 1-4 p.m. with "Garden Fresh Vegetables." From 2-4 p.m. is "Growing Mums." Throughout the day is "Victorian Christmas."
Thursday’s demonstration begins at 1-4 p.m. with "Container Gardening with Unique Containers." Throughout the day is "Fresh Everyday Arrangement."
Friday’s demonstrations begin at 9 a.m.-6 p.m. with "Butterfly Tagging and Release," followed at 10 a.m.-noon with "Rosemary and Lavender Herbs" and "Growing Scented Geraniums." Throughout day is "Christmas Wreaths and Arrangements."
Rounding out the week on Saturday from 10 a.m. until is "Rolled Candles," "Hand Dipped Candles," "Wax Figurines," and "Best Honey Dressing."
