FARM FAMILY OF THE YEAR TO BE NAMED DURING FAIR

FREDERICK, MD-- Tradition reigns as The Great Frederick Fair grandstand entertainment kicks off with the selection of the 2004 Frederick County Farm Family of the Year on Friday, Sept. 12, in front of the grandstand in conjunction with the naming of the 2003-04 Frederick County 4-H Royalty.

Admission to this event is free and open to the public and is set to begin at 7 p.m. The contest is sponsored in part by the fair and the Frederick County Agricultural Business Council.

"The Farm Family of the Year recipients are role-models and represent the best of Frederick County and Maryland agriculture," said J.R. Ramsburg Jr., president of Board of Managers of The Great Frederick. "We are pleased to once again, along with AgriBusiness Council of Frederick County, to be able to recognize family farms and their importance to our community during The Great Frederick Fair."

The 2004 Farm Family of the Year will represent Frederick County agriculture throughout fairweek and at agricultural events during the coming year. All contestants competing for the award will be showcased in a special display during fairweek.
