ONE FOOT, TWO FOOT, THREE FOOT, FAIR FOOT!
First and second grade students will use what they know about their own feet to
generate ideas about other feet
(human and animal). Students will measure, compare, collect data and
create a bar graph. Students will use this
information as background knowledge to help them complete a booklet while
attending The Great Frederick Fair.

BIRTHING CENTER
A “baby boom” will hit The Great Frederick Fair, and fair visitors can
experience it first hand! The Birthing Center will
be part of the agricultural educational program at the fair. Located next to
Building 32, the Birthing Center, will give
fairgoers the chance to watch farm animals give birth and care for their young.
The Western Maryland Veterinary Medical
Association will oversee this ag-citing program!

SPUDDY BUDDY
Visitors of all ages will have the opportunity to explore the fair with “Spuddy
Buddy” and learn about the five major senses
and how they are featured at the fair. Pick up your “Spuddy Buddy” activity card
and map at any of the fair’s Guest Relations Centers.
LET’S GROW A PIZZA
The Great Frederick Fair, Inc. in partnership with The Frederick County Board of
Education, is offering a new educational program
called “Let’s Grow A Pizza.” Pick up your very own recipe card at any of the
fair’s Guest Relations Centers. Then, visit the different
exhibits on the fairgrounds to learn where the ingredients for pizza come from
and the amount of ingredients needed to make a
large pizza.
Sponsoring this national award winning educational program is Frederick County
Farm Bureau, and MD Agricultural Council, Inc.

No place else can you get the aroma and taste of great food. From hand patted
oyster sandwiches to country fried chicken and
homemade soups to the traditional cotton candy, lemonade and candy apples, you
won’t go away hungry! Look for our “Chow Time Guide.”
COMMERCIAL EXHIBITORS
Visit the fair’s nearly 250 vendors featuring an array of exhibits from new cars
to jewelry and specialties.
MACHINERY ROW
From the latest in farm equipment technology to tractors and mowers for the
homeowner. This $3 million display has it all!
LANDSCAPERS’ CONTEST
A continuing event at this year’s fair sponsored by Classic Landscaping, Inc.

high schools, 4-H & FFA clubs and businesses.
CITY STREETS, COUNTRY ROADS
This national award winning agriculture education exhibit is one event you won’t
want to pass up. Located in Building 44, see
live animal exhibits, educational displays. Open daily from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. Be
sure to get your coloring/activity book (limited supply).
LegenDAIRY CELEBRATION!
Join us for a special evening while you watch the selection of the Supreme
Champion 4-H and Open Class dairy cattle at 7 p.m. Friday,
Sept. 22, at Building 32. Sponsored in part by Sheetz Stores.
DAIRY MILKING FACILITY
Located next to Building 32, the milking facility is sure to be a main
attraction. Come see the milking process first hand as the
exhibitors milk their cows daily.
IT’S FIBER-OPTICS!
This educational display features the sheep/alpaca industries next to Building
27. Sponsored in part by Tate Chrysler of Frederick.
BABY CHANGING STATIONS
Take care of your youngster’s diaper changing needs utilizing our baby changing
stations in restrooms at Buildings 2, 5, 15 and 24.
You’ll have a clean environment to take care of your little one’s needs.
LIVESTOCK
14 POULTRY/RABBITS
Several hundred species of poultry and rabbits will be featured in this
building.Educational displays will also be featured in this building.
18 BEEF BARN
4-H and open class exhibitors will have more than 400 head of beef cattle on
exhibit throughout the week.
TENT ALPACAS
Beside This livestock offering promises to be a popular attraction. In this
exhibit area you Bldg.29 will see the alpacas
Thursday through Saturday. You can watch the 4-H’ers show in Building 18 on the
first Saturday.
23 HORSES
Trotters are on display here. Watch them as they race around the half-mile race
track. The Draft Horse and Mule Show on
Sunday is always a popular attraction as well as the 4-H Horse and Pony Shows.
25-26 SWINE
Come squeal with the best! The swine exhibits are sure to bring you smiles. Be
sure to visit the baby pigs!
27-29 SHEEP
See these soft wooly animals. Special educational displays will also be featured
throughout the barns, and visit our educational
exhibit, It’s Fiber-Optics!
30 DAIRY GOATS
An exceptional display of dairy goats awaits you. Learn about the seven
different breeds at the fair.
33-39 DAIRY CATTLE
You’ll have a mooving experience when you visit the dairy barns! Come see where
milk really comes from when you visit the
milking facility! Our Milky Way exhibit will also feature informative displays.
HOUSEHOLD
9 Local residents take pride in exhibiting their handmade quilts, jars of
pickles and jellies, photographs, baked goods and crafts.
Special demonstrations will be featured throughout the week. Check the schedule
at Building 9 or any one of our three Guest Relations Centers.
FARM AND GARDEN
14A See what local residents have produced from the land during the past growing
season... from carrots and tomatoes to
flowers and pumpkins. Special demonstrations including butterflies and other
subjects will be held throughout the week.

$5 for 10 year olds and older (plus parking); free for those under 10 years.
Parking is limited on the grounds. Parking is encouraged
at the Highland St. (Lot C) property across from Gate 4 and Monocacy Blvd.(Lot
D) $5 per car to park.
